Pradhan Mantri JI-VAN (Jaiv Indhan- Vatavaran Anukool fasal awashesh Nivaran) Yojana.

Jaiv Indhan means bio-fuel, Vatavaran Anukool means environment friendly, fasal awashesh means crop remains, Nivaran means privention.

So It is a scheme for preventing crop residue from getting wasted and instead using them for the production of bio-fuels which is environment friendly.

In the Year 2003 government launched ethenol blending in petrol (EBP) program.

So as to blend enthnol in petrol the program was launched to address environmental concern because of fossil fuel burning.

So as to provide renumaration to the farmers.

Crop play very important role in the production of ethnol and it will also reduce crude oil imports by creating less demand for crude in the country.

we can achieve saving in foreign exchange.

under this ethnol blending of petrol program oil marketing companies are going to blend 10% of ethnol in petrol.

but in order to meet 10% ethnol blending target with projected pertol demand in year 2021-22 about 450 crore liters of ethnol will be required.

Now this 10% ethnol blending was to be achieved by the year 2022.

But if you see for the year 2017 only 150 crore liters of ethnol was procured, this against the target of 10% the avaliable ethnol helps to achieve only 4.22% blending in petrol.

Presently if you see target kept for 2018-19 is 225 crore liters of ethnol supply. But buy November 2019 the supply was 180 crore liters.

We have national policy of biofuels 2018.

It state that in 2018 the ethnol blending % in petrol is around 2% and bio-diseal blending is less than 0.1%.

Policy suggest is an indicative target of 20% blending of ethnol in petrol and 5% blending of bio-diseal in diseal to be achieved by the year 2030.

10% blending of ethnol to be achieved by 2022 and 20% to be achieved by 2030.

So there is mismatch between demand and supply of bio-ethenol. so to breach this supply gap.

Ministry of prtrolium and natursl gas is implementing the pm JI van and the ministry will keep eye on implementation agency and provide funding for pramotion of it

.because of funding and pramotion, more bio ethnol should be produced, so as to meet the demand of bio ethnol for blending in petrol.

2G ethnol: secound generation ethnol, it is also called as advance bio ethanol.

this are produced from agriculture resedue and byproduct organic waste and it also produced from woody grass waste material as feedstock.

Bagasse is nothing but dry pulpy resedur that is left after extraction of juice from sugercane.

1 genration ethnol: it is basic form of ethnol produced from biomass such as sugar containaing materials like sugarcane, sugarbeat etc.

And it is also produced from strach containing minerals, corns, casava, tottan potato, algae etc.

the government said that in order to meet the 10% blending target in petrol by 2022 the first generation bio ethnol will not be sufficient to achieve the target.

so we need to advanced bio-ethnol for that this scheme is devised.

using this scheme they are going to support viability gap funding for 12 commercial projects and 10 demonstration project.

this scheme also aiming to increase research and development in this area as well.

Nodal Agency or implentation agency: center for high technology a technical body
